UAE extends Entry Ban on Passengers from India, till July 6

Dubai: UAE have extended the entry ban for passengers from India. Indians cannot enter the United Arab Emirates immediately before July 6th. The new decision is a setback for thousands of NRIs planning to return to the UAE.

The UAE has been imposing a direct entry ban on Indian passengers since April 24th. The General Civil Aviation Authority also announced that the ban will be lifted as the number of Covid cases in India declines. The agency then decided to extend the ban until July 6th.

Thousands of Keralites working in the UAE planned to return to the UAE after the ban was lifted. With the new order, Air India Express said that those who booked tickets for the first week of July will have to reschedule the trip after contacting travel agents.

In addition to the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia have also imposed direct entry bans on Indian passengers. However, Bahrain and Qatar allow entry for holders of a residence visa.
