Five-month-old baby forgotten on the train; Railway officials return the baby to the family

Many people forget many things on the train journey. These include those who have lost money and valuables, starting with the packages prepared for the trip and those who have got it back by luck. But a strange incident has been reported here.

A five-month-old baby boy has returned to his family at the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai with the timely intervention of Railway Police officials. The baby was found in the sleeper coach of the Banaras-Mumbai superfast train on July 28 at 12.50 pm, the Times of India reported. There was no one around the baby, after which a female officer took charge of the baby.

After checking the reservation charts in the coach, the railway officials found that the seat where the girl was found was reserved by Nalasopara resident Sivanarayan Gautam. Gautam told RPF officials that the girl was his granddaughter and had gone to Mumbai with his sick wife and two children besides the baby.

In the rush to get off the train, he forgot the baby on the train. By the time the family realized this, they had left the train station. Officials checked the family’s identity card before handing over the baby to the family.
