Food items containing cannabis were seized from a bakery in Malad. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized cannabis and cakes containing the cannabis. This is the first case in India, said NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankade. Three people have been taken into custody in the incident.
Ten brownie cakes mixed with 830 grams of cannabis and 35 grams of cannabis seized from the search in bakery. The raid was carried out on Saturday night at a bakery in Malad based on information received by the NCB zonal unit. The NCB on Saturday arrested a bakery employee for keeping 125 grams of cannabis.
The investigation team started questioning bakery employee. The NCB said in a statement that cannabis was used in confectionery, chips and baked goods. But officials says it is very difficult to identify the products mixed with cannabis.
